stargazing

i dreamt of looking

deep into the night sky

and seeing all the stars -

(far more than i have

ever seen in waking life)

glowing, pulsing, exchanging light

in an other-worldly communion

all my senses suddenly expanded

then compressed

into one knowing...

the kind that mortal bodies

cannot sustain for long

but for which we're made, nevertheless
