(re)learning loveliness

...for everything flowers from within of self-blessing; though

sometimes it is necessary to reteach a thing its loveliness...

-galway kinnell (b. 1927)

from his poem, saint francis and the sow

self-blessing
hmmmmm
perhaps that is a way to reteach of ones loveliness

"reteach a thing its loveliness" was a quote i found and put on the very first vision board i ever made. it resonated with me, although at the time i had no idea where it came from. then one day, i came across the kinnell poem and said, "aha!" the fact that it talked about a sow was a bit of a bonus, as pigs are among my most favorite animals.

it's a great line
i haven't had much to do with pigs, and it kind of strikes me as funny to put pigs together with it
i guess if a pig can be lovely, there's hope for all of us :)
